FIFA World Cup
Millions of soccer fans will fly to Qatar in 2022. And they will meet them with dignity. Because the preparation for the sports event is proceeding by leaps and bounds. The games will take place at 8 stadiums from November 28 to December 12. The majestic Al Janoub stadium, shaped like a traditional dhow boat, played its first match in May this year and proved its high level of sports culture. The opening match and the Championship final will take place at Lusail Stadium, which is almost ready to play. Al Rajan, Al Bait, Al Thumama, and Ras Abu Aboud entered the home stretch the builders of the stadiums’ Education City.
On September 3, football fans welcomed the emblem of the upcoming Championship. It symbolizes the unification of the world and includes elements of Arab culture. The curved lines are designs of desert dunes, while the white is a nod to traditional Arab shawls. And the cloak because this is the first Championship to be held during the cold season. The design on the emblem represents the diversity of Asian cultures. And even the emblem font, specially created based on Arabic script, has its own mission – a combination of tradition and modernity.
Golf and athletics
The World Athletics Championships kicked off in Doha on September 27. All competitions will be held at Halifa Stadium. Until October 6, the best of the best athletes will compete for prizes. Sports tourism is becoming more popular from year to year. Doha, for example, has opened the Education City Golf Club, a unique and innovative golf club. A training centre with advanced training equipment operates based on the new alma mater. In particular, TrackMan technology allows the radar to track every hit and PowerTee – the green golf course. New metro lines in Doha
So that tourists and guests of the FIFA World Cup do not miss important events and move around the city with comfort, the metro is expanding in the capital of Qatar. Today there are 13 stations in Doha. Modest enough for a metropolis with an area of 159 square meters.
But next year, the developer Lusail Tram promises to open more than 27* Stations. By the mid of 2021, the Doha metro network will consist of three lines – the primary red, green, gold – and 37 stations. Of course, all construction work under the ground is planned to be completed before starting the FIFA World Cup. The red line already today allows you to get from Hamad International Airport to the top sights of the capital and beyond.
Premiere of luxury hotels
This season, two gems have been added to the Qatar hotels collection. In March, the Alwadi Doha Boutique Hotel – MGallery 5 * received its first guests. The boutique hotel is located in the centre of Doha, and many rooms offer views of Souq Waqif and the city centre of the capital.

Music and education
In February last year, the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra celebrated its tenth anniversary. Musicians perform Arabic and Western musical compositions.
