TOM CLANCY’S RAINBOW SIX SIEGE: OPERATION CRIMSON HEIST

Operation Crimson Heist is the latest expansion of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow six siege that features a brand new attacking operator known as Flores, a newly reworked Border map, the much-awaited match replay feature, and a new secondary option for attackers. All this and more are now available in season 1 of year 6 of Rainbow Six Siege. So, with that being said, let’s take a look at everything that you need to know about Operation Crimson Heist.

RELEASE DATE:

Operation Crimson Heist was released on March 16th, 2021 for battle pass owners and for everyone else on March 30, 2021. Like any other previous Operations of Rainbow Six Siege, it is expected that Operation Crimson Heist will last for about three months.

NEW ATTACKER: FLORES

Operation Crimson Heist has brought a brand new attacking operator named Santiago ‘Flores’ Lucero. He is a medium-speed, medium-armor attacker who possesses the RCE-Ratero Charge, an explosive device that can be controlled like a drone. The primary purpose of the RCE-Ratero Charge is to destroy defenders’ gadgets, however, it can also be used to punch holes in unreinforced destructible surfaces, which are large enough for you and your allies to crouch through. Furthermore, Ratero’s explosion can be fatal for the defenders as well if caught within the blast radius, even though they get plenty of warning before the blast actually takes place.

Unlike a normal attacker drone, RCE-Ratero Charge can only move in the forward direction and can be controlled for only about ten seconds, before the charge gets automatically activated. Once active, the drone sticks to its nearest surface, becomes bulletproof, and explodes after three seconds. Flores can also trigger the explosion manually before the timer runs out.

While in motion, the RCE-Ratero Charge is vulnerable to bullets, lasers, Mozzie’s pest and, Kaid/ Bandit’s electricity. Mute jammers can also disable the drone if caught within its jamming radius.

Apart from the Ratero charges, Flores’s loadout consists of stun grenades or a claymore for the secondary gadget slot. He has a choice between SR-25 a marksman rifle and AR33 a fully automatic assault rifle for his primary weapon slot and his secondary weapon is the GSh-18 semi-automatic pistol.

NEW SECONDARY WEAPON: GONNE-6

Operation Crimson Heist has also brought a brand new secondary weapon option for the attackers, known as the Gonne-6. It is a single-shot weapon that fires an explosive round that can not only destroy all sorts of bulletproof gadgets but can also be used to punch a hole in unreinforced soft walls. Currently, this weapon is available for eight different attackers: –

  • Glaz
  • Dokkaebi
  • Lion
  • Finka
  • Gridlock
  • Amaru
  • Iana
  • Zero

REWORKED BORDER MAP

Much like the previous season of Rainbow Six Siege, Operation Crimson Heist did not bring any new map to the game. Instead, we got a reworked Border map. Several significant changes have been implemented in this newly reworked map, for example, a new exterior staircase has been added that leads to the 2F Archives/Offices balcony and a new interior balcony has been built connecting the Break room to East stairs. Several objective sites have been rearranged for better balance and cleaner lines of sight, and the 1F Bathroom site now features a new destructible wall leading to the adjacent room. Apart from these changes, a number of smaller yet noteworthy adjustments have also been made to the map as well.

MATCH REPLAY FEATURE AND STREAMER MODE

The long-awaited match replay feature has finally made its arrival in the Beta phase, exclusively on PC. This feature allows you to re-watch and examine your previous matches from any perspective you want, including your opponents.

Apart from the Match replay feature, Ubisoft has also introduced the much-anticipated streamer mode as well, to restrict the stream sniping and queue sniping. This mode offers the streamers several tools to hide their identity, region, ping, and more for CSGO Prime Account.

MOZZIE PEST CHANGES

A noteworthy change has been brought to the Mozzie’s drone catching pests. While controlling a drone, attackers will now notice the pest icon flash at different speeds, depending on how close the drone is from Mozzie’s pest, giving the attackers a better understanding of the situation.

OPERATOR’S PRICE DECREASE

Lion, Finka, Mozzie, Gridlock, Iana, and Oryx are now available at a much cheaper price. Lion and Finka costs 10,000 Renown or 240 R6 Credits, Mozzie and Gridlock costs 15000 Renown or 360 R6 credits and finally Iana and Oryx costs 20000 Renown or 480 R6 Credits.
